Human instinct and God is where morality comes from. If you believe God made us, then God is the purveyor, of the morals we have. If you don't, then we were born with morals, That and sex continue our species. The Founding Fathers used the God given and or moral instinct, to create a government where responsible humans, will live in within those lines and have individual freedom, without having living as the survival of the fittest, the only alternative to individual freedom
